Abstract

Recent studies emphasize a positive impact of learning with augmented reality (AR) systems in various instructional scenarios. This study investigated the effects of the use of AR technologies in science laboratories on university students’ laboratory skills and attitudes towards laboratories. A quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test control group design was employed. The participants were 180 third-year university students in physics chemistry and first-year master in physics chemistry, aged 20–24 years old. They were assigned to either an experimental or a control group Qualitative and quantitative data collection tools were used. The experimental results obtained after the use of augmented reality in the rectification PW. Revealed that AR technology has significantly improved the development of laboratory skills of university students. AR technology has both improved students’ experimental skills and helped them develop positive attitudes towards physics laboratories.
