- Abstract
Since the introduction of data analysis literacy in the 2017 edition of the Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools, cultivating students’ data analysis literacy has become an important task in probability and statistics teaching. With this literacy, students can understand, comprehend, and analyze data in the era of big data. The author takes statistics as an example to stimulate students’ interest and introduce statistics through practical examples; In the exploration, the applicability range of mean and median was pointed out, and English scores with the same mean were used to guide students to think about variance, a statistical measure that describes the degree of data dispersion. The exercises in the consolidation stage were tested from simple to complex, and students’ understanding level was tested. In the summary, students were allowed to independently review what they had learned, deepening their understanding of knowledge and improving their literacy. The proposed teaching design has practical value for teaching probability and statistics.
