- Abstract
This paper conducts a research on the mental health policies for Chinese students. It reviews the evolutionary process of these policies since 1978, which has gone through stages of gestation and preparation, initial establishment and integration, and then growth and development. It points out that current policies are characterized by systematic coverage design, integration, and flexibility. However, there are some problems in policy implementation, such as imbalanced resource allocation between regions and schools, insufficient publicity, and fragmented and broken collaborative mechanisms among families, schools, and society. To promote the effective implementation of policies, it is necessary to strengthen policy resource allocation, increase investment in central and western regions as well as rural areas, and innovate the way of fund utilization; build a systematic publicity network, integrate policies into school education, and expand publicity media; strengthen the construction of the teaching staff, provide professional training, establish career development paths, improve the certification system, etc., so as to enhance the professional quality and work performance of psychology teachers.
