The 2026 2nd International Conference on Education Research and Training Technologies (ERTT 2026) was successfully held on September 11–13, 2026, in Xi'an, China. The conference brought together researchers, educators, education administrators, and practitioners to examine emerging developments in educational research and training technologies and their implications for teaching, learning, and educational practice. A total of 116 submissions were received, of which 28 papers were accepted for presentation and publication after peer review. More than 80 participants from diverse countries and regions attended the conference, creating an interdisciplinary setting for the exchange of research findings and practical experience.

A central feature of ERTT 2026 was its keynote program, which examined the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and education from complementary perspectives. Prof. Guandong Xu of The Education University of Hong Kong discussed AI-supported instructional scaffolding and human–AI co-orchestration, while Prof. Yongjun Feng of Shaanxi Normal University examined the impact of advanced AI on higher education. Prof. Xuesong Zhai of Zhejiang University explored the role of embodied AI in digital ubiquitous learning. Prof. Pengfei Xu of Northwest University addressed AI-driven evaluation and forecasting in faculty management policy, and Prof. Lin Wang of Xi'an Peihua University presented an implementation model for educational AI in application-oriented universities. Together with the oral presentations, these sessions broadened the discussion from classroom applications and learning technologies to teacher development, institutional management, policy, and the wider transformation of educational systems.

The research contributions covered both fundamental and applied dimensions of education. Topics included pedagogical theory, educational policy and reform, curriculum and teaching management, learning and developmental psychology, educational technology, distance and online education, virtual reality, cross-cultural and inclusive education, lifelong learning, talent development, educational equity, and interdisciplinary educational research. Particular attention was also given to teacher training and professional development, vocational education and skills training, teaching-method optimization, curriculum design, educational technology applications, organizational change, educational leadership, quality assurance, and the evaluation of training outcomes. Across these areas, the contributions reflected ongoing efforts to integrate technological innovation with pedagogical practice and to improve the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of education and training.

The Organizing Committee express their sincere appreciation to all keynote speakers, authors, reviewers, session chairs, organizing committee members, and participants for their valuable contributions to ERTT 2026. We hope that the research presented in these proceedings will support continued scholarly discussion and provide useful insights for the development of innovative, effective, and technology-enhanced education and training.
