The 20243rd International Conference on Educational Science and Social Culture (ESSC 2024) was successfully held in Chengdu, China, during December 27–29, 2024. The event attracted over 200 participants from different countries and regions, fostering an excellent platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and discussions on the latest developments in educational science and social culture.

The conference aimed to promote collaboration among educators, researchers, and professionals from around the world, focusing on the intersection of education, social sciences, and cultural development. It provided a comprehensive overview of contemporary issues and future perspectives in the field, with the goal of addressing the challenges and opportunities facing global education systems.

The conference featured an exciting program with keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and parallel presentations covering a range of important topics. These included digital transformation in education, social inclusion, the role of culture in learning, and the integration of emerging technologies in educational practices.

The keynote speeches were delivered by several distinguished experts in the field:

Prof. Yao Song from Sichuan University, China, shared his insights in his keynote titled “From Brainwaves to Big Data: Dual Perspectives on Micro and Macro Social Impacts.” He explored how technology influences society at both individual and societal levels, integrating neuroscience and artificial intelligence to examine their effects on cognition, behavior, and cultural evolution.

Prof. Bradley C. Freeman from Sunway University, Malaysia, presented on “Global Media Classroom: Bridging Cultures and Enhancing Learning through International Collaboration.” His speech focused on a pioneering initiative that connects students globally, fostering cultural understanding and enriching academic experiences through collaborative media projects.

Prof. Asad Khalil from Southwest University of Political Science & Law, China, gave a thought-provoking keynote on “Transforming Education: The Role of Practical Learning in Meeting Evolving Needs.” He emphasized the importance of practical, hands-on learning experiences in preparing students for the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Assoc. Prof. Goh Yi Sheng from Sunway University, Malaysia, discussed “Empowering the Elderly: Creative Approaches for Disaster Resilience in Urban Floods.” She focused on the specific needs of senior citizens during urban disasters, particularly floods, and shared her work on disaster preparedness for aging populations in Malaysia.

The conference proceedings, published by Atlantis Press, include a collection of papers that showcase the most recent research in educational science and social culture. These papers address key issues such as inclusive education, curriculum innovation, and the impact of cultural diversity on learning environments.
