Website: https://icessc.org/ The 2025 4th International Conference on Educational Science and Social Culture (ESSC 2025) was successfully held from December 19 to 21, 2025, in Xiamen, China. As the fourth installment of this conference series, ESSC 2025 continued to serve as an international academic forum dedicated to advancing theoretical inquiry and practical exploration at the intersection of educational sciences and social-cultural studies. The conference attracted over 180 participants from universities, research institutes, and professional organizations from many countries and regions, reflecting its growing international visibility and academic influence. A total of 217 manuscripts were submitted, of which 97 were accepted after a rigorous peer-review process that emphasized originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the conference themes. The academic program of ESSC 2025 was highlighted by a rich set of keynote speeches and oral presentation sessions, which together showcased the diversity and depth of current research in education and social culture. Prof. Rongmao Lin (Fujian Normal University) delivered an insightful keynote on adolescents' life awe, integrating empirical evidence with educational practice. Prof. Debby Han (Xiamen Institute of Technology / Jimei University) explored pragmatic markers in monologic discourse through a corpus-based, multi-perspective lens, offering cross-disciplinary implications. Assoc. Prof. Xiantong Yang (Fujian Normal University) examined emerging paradigms in educational psychology in the AI era, while Assoc. Res. Shunan Zhang (Huaqiao University) addressed the problematic use of artificial intelligence in learning and proposed educational responses grounded in empirical analysis. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Eva Yuk Sai Nam (Xiamen Institute of Technology) presented a scientometric study mapping the knowledge structure of generative AI chatbots in professional writing, with particular attention to technology adoption and ethical concerns. Complemented by oral presentations, these sessions collectively fostered dynamic academic exchange, encouraging dialogue across disciplinary boundaries and methodological traditions. Discussions throughout the conference spanned a broad range of research topics, reflecting the inherently interdisciplinary nature of contemporary educational and social-cultural studies. Contributions addressed foundational and applied issues in educational sciences, including pedagogy, educational psychology, curriculum design, teaching practice, technology-enhanced learning, online and distance education, instructional design, and innovation in educational systems. At the same time, the conference engaged deeply with social and cultural dimensions such as management science, psychology, law, politics, history, communication, human development, technology and society, international relations, and cognitive and behavioral sciences. By integrating perspectives from education, humanities, and social sciences, ESSC 2025 provided a comprehensive platform for examining how educational practices and social-cultural dynamics mutually shape human development in an era marked by rapid technological and societal change. The organizing committee would like to express their sincere appreciation to the keynote speakers, authors, reviewers, and organizing committee members for their invaluable contributions. It is our hope that the proceedings of ESSC 2025 will not only document the academic outcomes of the conference but also serve as a meaningful reference for researchers, educators, and practitioners seeking to advance knowledge and practice in educational science and social culture.
