- Abstract
The research examines the psychological (stress), social (sociability) and economic (financial comfort) factors affecting screen time among young adults (18-25 yrs) in the Delhi-NCR region, focusing on the mediating impact of internet dependency. Data for the study were collected using a structured questionnaire and analysed via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that internet dependency fully mediates stress and screen time and partially mediated the relationship between sociability and screen time, whereas financial comfort did not demonstrate a significant influence. The study provides a multifaceted perspective on screen use among young adults and highlights the importance of addressing psychological coping and socially driven online engagement when designing policies to promote healthy digital behaviour.
