- Abstract
The emergence of the digital economy has transformed the structure of the traditional labor market and the main reason behind these are constant growth of temporary, contingent and platform work. The services provided by the digital platform is not only increasing in India, but throughout the world. These platforms operate as mediator for matching workers with customers while exercising significant control through algorithms, commissions, and incentive structures. The income of delivery boys and ride hailing workers is unstable, heavily dependent on incentives and demand, with little or no job security. A swift growth of platform work in our country has transformed the urban labor market, particularly in metropolitan cities Delhi. The present study examines the working conditions of platform workers and use exploratory factor analysis for better understanding. Through exploratory factor anslysis four factors, namely algorithmic control, Economic dependence, Job satisfaction and work experience and perception has been identified.
