Abstract

As it reflects a company’s performance and future prospects, firm value is very important to investors and other stakeholders. A good firm value indicates that the company has the ability to manage its operations effectively and efficiently. Companies must not only generate financial returns, but they must also consider how their operations impact society and the environment. Environmental costs, also known as environmental costs, include all costs that businesses make to reduce negative impacts on the environment, such as waste management, efficient use of resources, and other efforts to preserve the environment. the purpose of this study is to determine how environmental costs and good corporate governance affect firm value. the method used in this study is a systematic literature review. The results of this study indicate that environmental costs and good corporate governance have an influence on firm value, although the mechanism and implications of their influence are different. Environmental cost expenditures, if managed properly, can increase firm value through increased reputation, operational efficiency, access to financing sources, and reduced risks related to environmental regulations.
