- Abstract
This article examines how Human Resource Management (HRM) practices can improve organizational and environmental sustainability. The main focus is on Sustainability Human Resource Management (SHRM) and its impact on employees, organizational performance, and environmental performance. This research utilizes a literature review approach to explores the concept of Sustainable Human Resource Management (SHRM) and identifies the indicators, barriers, and benefits of SHRM adoption. Research shows that effective implementation of SHRM through GHRM can drive green innovation and improve environmental performance outcomes, as well as improve transparent sustainability reports that attract investment and improve corporate financial performance. However, challenges such as lack of understanding from stakeholders, negative impacts from efficiency practices, and inappropriate remuneration system design, can hinder the success of SHRM. Contextual factors, such as organizational culture, also affect SHRM implementation. This article emphasizes the importance of an integrated and strategic approach to overcome such challenges and ensure SHRM’s contribution to the long-term sustainability of both the organization and society.
