Abstract

Nowadays, many companies in the world have implemented green innovation as part of their strategy to adapt to environmental changes and meet the demands of consumers and customers who are increasingly concerned about sustainability. Green innovation has an important role in increasing a country’s economic growth by creating new jobs, increasing efficiency and productivity, attracting investment, and increasing global competitiveness and strengthening a country’s position in the international market. This study analyses the impact of investment in green technology, CO2 emissions, and total final energy use on nominal GDP (Gross Domestic Product) from both developed countries (Japan, Czech Republic, and United Kingdom), and emerging countries (Brazil and Indonesia). The study is using multiple regression analysis to analyse the correlation between those variables and the tool used was Data Analysis on Microsoft Excel. The regression models reveal significant relationships in some countries (Brazil, Czech Republic), but inconsistent or weak relationships in others (Indonesia, Japan, and United Kingdom). CO2 emissions generally have a negative impact, as expected; while investment in green technology and energy use have positive effects in certain cases.
