Abstract

This research explores the relationship between electric vehicle (EV) adoption and green sustainability in Indonesia, with a particular emphasis on the mediating role of government policies. The study analyzes three key variables: EV adoption as the independent variable, government policies as the mediator, and green sustainability as the dependent variable. Data were collected through targeted questionnaires administered to 384 eV users across Indonesia, utilizing purposive sampling to ensure the relevance and accuracy of the insights obtained. Employing partial least squares analysis, the findings reveal a significant positive influence of EV adoption on both government policies and green sustainability. These results highlight the potential of electric vehicles to enhance sustainability initiatives within Indonesia, offering critical insights for policymakers and stakeholders committed to fostering a greener future. Furthermore, this study underscores the necessity for supportive government policies to fully realize the benefits of EV adoption. By developing frameworks that promote the use of electric vehicles, Indonesia can bolster its efforts toward achieving environmental sustainability. Consequently, electric vehicles can play a pivotal role in the country’s ecological strategy, paving the way for a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future.
