- Abstract
The management of tourism villages in Indonesia faces challenges in ensuring the active participation of the community in order to achieve sustainable tourism development. The main problem in this study is how the implementation of tourism village management policies with a Community Based Tourism (CBT) approach can effectively empower local communities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of CBT policies in managing tourism villages and identify the obstacles faced. The method used is a case study in several selected tourist villages in Indonesia with a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that community involvement through CBT has a positive impact on cultural preservation, local economic improvement, and environmental sustainability. However, there are obstacles such as lack of infrastructure support and limited human resource capacity that hinder the successful implementation of policies. The conclusion of this study is the need to increase policy support and training programs to strengthen the role of the community in the management of CBT-based tourism villages in order to achieve sustainable tourism development in Indonesia.
