- Abstract
This research was created to explore the Christian character of early childhood through Christian education integrated with Mapalus cultural values. Anugerah Tingkulu Kindergarten is the locus of research carried out, using qualitative methods: interviews, observation and documentation. The consistency of the research methods created results in the fact that Christian religious education is considered effective in relation to character formation with efforts to preserve Mapalus culture. The challenges of globalization are not a barrier but a means for young children to develop their potential and provide space for appreciation of traditional Mapalus culture. Mapalus’ cultural values are a real expression that can transform children’s Christian character to become stronger in the era of globalization. Changing times can have an impact on the learning process of Christian religious education so that efforts to continuously preserve Mapalus cultural values need to receive maximum attention from related parties.
