Abstract

Exclusivism means understanding the tendency to separate oneself from society. According to Nurcholish Madjid (In the Foreword: Grose & Hubbard, The paradigm continues to be adhered to today: “Religion itself is the most correct, others are wrong”. For Christianity, the core view of exclusivism is that Jesus is the only valid way to Salvation is found only in Jesus. As stated in John 14:6, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life; no one can come to the Father except through Him. This is also affirmed in Acts 4:12, which declares that there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Theological exclusivism is a trait or understanding that also exists in the Israeli people who separate themselves from communities outside Israel (non-Israel). This is a result of the tribal system of Israel which prioritized its interests as God’s chosen nation. Supposedly, the reality of being the chosen nation for Israel is a reality that has an impact on the surrounding nations. This article aims to find out whether there is an understanding of religious exclusivism and forms of attitudes found in the GKE Hosianna congregation. Also find out how religious moderation is viewed in the GKE Hosianna Congregation. The research uses qualitative analysis. Finally, contribute to the congregation to interact with moderate attitudes and behavior.
