Abstract

This study investigates how AI technology can enhance learning in Christian education. Utilizing a Convergent Parallel Mixed Methods Design, it combines quantitative and qualitative data to provide comprehensive insights. Data collection techniques were interviews and questionnaires. The results of the research using quantitative methods show that the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in Christian education has significant benefits in increasing the effectiveness and personalization of learning, as well as supporting the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, the results of the qualitative research show that the implementation of AI in Christian education requires guidelines to maintain honesty and integrity, and avoid ethical violations. AI enables self-directed learning with easy access to additional information, including enriching Bible knowledge and spiritual growth. However, the use of AI must adhere to Christian values and clear ethical guidelines to maintain educational quality. Educators play a crucial role in guiding and assisting students in using AI. Users must be wise as AI can have negative impacts such as plagiarism and dependency. The information provided by AI needs to be critically analyzed. In curriculum development, AI acts as a tool, but it still requires in-depth understanding from the user, with ethical and responsible use.
