Abstract

In learning activities in Sunday School, students must have the ability to listen so that the stories conveyed can be understood by students so that the learning process in the form of stories is not only heard but can become a reference for Sunday school children’s lives as Christian believers. This study aims to improve listening skills through the storytelling method with hand puppet and picture media for children aged 6–8 years in the small class of the Sunday School of the Gereja Toraja Jemaat Galaxi Bekasi. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK). The subjects in this study amounted to 12 students. The results showed that the storytelling method using hand puppets and pictures can improve the ability to listen to Bible stories for children aged 6–8 years in the small class of the Sunday School of the Gereja Toraja Jemaat Galaxi Bekasi. The results of children’s listening skills in Cycle I, namely no children who were in the Very Good Developing criteria (0%) and in Cycle II increased, namely 12 children or all children were in the Very Good Developing criteria (100%).
