Abstract

This study describes the readiness of children entering elementary school and to describe the involvement of parents in the readiness of their children. The qualitative research method was used to gain a deep understanding of the subjective aspects of the individual regarding the phenomenon being studied, which is considered suitable for addressing the research questions. The subjects of this study are parents of children in kindergarten class B, consisting of 6 parents. The results of this study are generally that all children have readiness to enter elementary school. The aspects of readiness related to cognitive development have reached a sufficient level of maturity. However, aspects related to fine motor skills, concentration, understanding stories, and independence are still not optimal or are in the category of uncertainty, and children still require guidance. Based on the involvement of parents in the readiness of children at TK Pemata Bunda Palangka Raya, it can be seen from the physical, cognitive, and social aspects. These three aspects show that there are efforts from parents to actively support their children. However, on the other hand, the involvement of parents in some aspects is still not optimal due to factors that influence this involvement.
