Abstract

The researcher is interested in researching specifically at the State Junior High School Palangka Raya Indonesia which is still so rampant with bullying actions. The purpose of this study is to describe the understanding of Christian students towards bullying actions at Junior High School Palangka Raya Indonesia and analyze the PAK teacher’s coaching efforts for students against bullying actions. Research methods adopt approaches qualitative research with descriptive types which describe phenomenalogically according to the research case under study. Techniques used to collect data are observation, interviews and documentation. Conclusions of this research results could be obtained some information regarding the behavior of bullying actions on Christian students at the State Junior High School Palangka Raya. Generally, all students have been victims of verbal bullying, visual bullying, physical bullying and cyberbullying. Their reactions towards any bullying they received were feelings of hurt, anger, offense, and trauma. PAK teachers’ role for students affected person by bullying is to strive for guidance to students to have self-confidence and courage to reject bullying and to ensure that students establish social relationships with other students. Since bullying victims are students who are seemingly vulnerable and embarrassed at school, PAK teachers actively encourage students to respect each other’s differences and to love each other. As well as making students aware so that they do not make bullying behavior a common thing that happens to them.
