Abstract

The free lunch program was introduced by Prabowo during the campaign to gain votes in the 2024 Presidential Election. Whether because of this program, or something else, Prabowo finally won the Presidential Election contest. However, after being elected, Prabowo immediately revised the free lunch program into a free nutritious meal program. However, this does not imply that Prabowo will cancel this program, on the contrary, he is increasingly convinced that he feels the need to update the program’s name. This research provides an analysis based on the lens of New Testament Theology and Christian Education in photographing the free nutritious food program that Prabowo promoted during the campaign before he was elected President. Since it was announced, this program has polarized Indonesian society into two groups: pros and cons. The researcher’s position is not in one of these groups but rather wants to neutrally elaborate on this program from the perspective of Christian theology and education. This research seeks to find the urgency of implementing the free nutritious meal program, especially in the context of Christian education in Papua. Apart from that, this research also wants to provide a new perspective based on theology and Christian education in looking at the free lunch program. The research methodology used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Through this research, it is hoped that it can provide a point of view and add to the treasures in assessing and analyzing Prabowo’s program regarding free nutritious meals. In the end, when this program is launched, it is hoped that this research can contribute ideas for successful implementation in order to realize the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
