Abstract

Adolescents should be ready to make choices in college to support their education and careers. However, many teenagers do not have good college readiness. This study aims to determine the extent of college readiness among students. The data collection method used in this study used incidental sampling, which was conducted in the range of January to July 2023. Researchers used four measuring instruments, namely, the Cayci career and college readiness, College Academic Self Efficacy Scale (CASES), Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ), and Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI). Each measuring instrument has its own number of items and has been tested for its validity and reliability. The results of the study conducted on 377 people showed that the four variables were correlated, with College Readiness as the dependent variable that is most easily influenced by other factors, including demographics. In this case, it is evident that self-efficacy affected the level of College Readiness (p < 0.001). In addition, those who attended courses even while in college had a better level of College Readiness (p < 0.001).
