Abstract

This project presents an automated traffic violation detection system developed to recognize and confront helmet violation and triple riding using real time and static data. The system applies the YOLOv8 model for real time object detection. Pre-trained YOLOv8 is utilized for triple riding detection, and the model is trained with personalized dataset for helmet detection. The system handles both image and video inputs and it also handles real time videos and images. And it automatically sends the email notifications to the vehicle owners containing the violation details and image attached to it. Metrics such as recall and precision are used to evaluate the system performance and it works in low light conditions. This project aims to strengthen the traffic management systems, this outcome creates a smarter and risk-free urban transportation.
