Abstract

The use of local ecological knowledge and fisheries applications are always interconnected and in tandem in helping traditional fishermen carry out fishing activities to obtain fish catches. This study analyzes the collaboration of Local Ecological Knowledge in the midst of the use of fisheries applications in facing weather uncertainty that is closely related to the impact of climate change by traditional fishermen in Sidokumpul Village. The theory used is the Social-Ecological System theory proposed by Elinor Ostrom. The selected location is located in Sidokumpul Village, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, East Java Province. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative through a narrative research approach. Data collection by researchers includes observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique for determining informants was taken using a purposive sampling technique. From the analysis of this study, it was found that during climate change, local ecological knowledge and fisheries applications have their respective proportions in their use. Where fisheries applications are easier to use, local ecological knowledge is also still relied on by traditional fishermen in fishing. For example, the Fishing Point application and the Windy application are used to monitor the weather to be more effective and practical due to the uncertain weather every year. In this way, the use of both is still carried out, preserved and the social network is maintained to share information between users of both.
