Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the influence of the mind mapping method on the learning motivation of young children at Sukma Nusa Bangsa Kindergarten, Gorontalo City. This study was an experimental research that provided different treatments to specific samples. The design used in this research was an independent test between two factors. Data analysis involved quantitative analysis. The population was Group B at Sukma Nusa Bangsa Kindergarten, Gorontalo City, which consisted of 20 children. Samples were taken from all 20 children. The research results indicated that there was an influence of the mind mapping method on the learning motivation of Group B children at Sukma Nusa Bangsa Kindergarten, Kota Tengah District, Gorontalo City. Based on the calculations, X20.99 (1) = 6.63, which was clearly smaller than 11.66. Thus, the research provided a significant test, leading to the conclusion that there was a substantial influence of the method used by teachers on children’s learning motivation. Specifically, mind mapping was found to be more effective compared to conventional methods in enhancing children’s learning motivation. Therefore, this research demonstrated a significant impact, concluding that mind mapping had a notable influence on improving the type of method used by teachers to motivate students, compared to conventional methods.
