Abstract

The importance of history learning in schools is undoubtedly to build student character. Most learning in schools still uses conventional learning methods, which are only limited to utilizing historical facts as the main material. As a result, students feel that learning history becomes dry, less interesting, and does not provide opportunities to develop critical thinking skills. This research aims to examine the application of 360° virtual reality based on video of the relics of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom as an interactive learning media solution. The method used in this research is a semi-systematic literature review which in its application involves systematic analysis of relevant literature, but there is still flexibility in searching and selecting literature. The results of this study prove that the application of virtual reality based on 360° video of the relics of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom can be an alternative solution for interactive and effective history learning. However, further research is still needed regarding the application of 360° virtual reality in history learning because increasing the means of social interaction and productivity in virtual reality is also a very important factor that must be considered to increase a greater positive impact on higher education levels.
