Abstract

Yogyakarta has considerable tourism potential, as evidenced by tourist visits within one year 2023 reaching more than 7 million. Yogyakarta is a city of historical and cultural values from the Hindu Buddhist period. The historical value of Yogyakarta is an attraction and potential in the world of tourism that can be utilized as educational tourism based on heritage tourism. The edu-tourism referred to in this research is to develop an integrated educational tourism product for young people aged 13–20 years (junior and senior high school) that will connect the heritage area of Islamic Mataram heritage (16th century) in Yogyakarta historically, culturally, and environmentally in Kerto Plered Yogyakarta. This research aims to produce a tour package through Virtual Reality 360° based on an Android Mobile application designed as part of edu tourism. This research will develop Virtual Reality 360° by utilizing heritage tourism. The method used is development including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed product will then be tested for the feasibility of Virtual Reality 360°. Virtual reality 360° (VR) has revolutionized the heritage-based tourism experience and learning for visitors, especially at the Kerto Pleret Site which is one form of 16th-century Islamic historical heritage in Yogyakarta.
