Abstract

Social media is an inseparable part of daily life for individuals in the technological and digital era. One group that has experienced an increase in the number of social media users is teenagers and young individuals who are currently students. Students utilize social media for various purposes and bring positive impacts, but besides that social media can also bring the threat of negative impacts. One of the negative impacts that can arise from unwise use of social media is anxiety. Anxiety is found to correlate with problematic social media use and is widely experienced by individuals, so it can be a threat to adolescents. This problem needs to be addressed, one of which is by using emotion regulation training which on this occasion will be packaged through healthy coping strategy training. Adaptive healthy coping strategies can reduce anxiety due to the use of social media, so it is important to be trained to students. This healthy coping strategy training will provide material in the form of knowledge about social media and its impact, the impact of anxiety due to social media, types of positive coping strategies, and 4C competencies. A total of 12 participants were selected by purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis by comparing the average before and after training. Based on the data above, it is known that there is an increase in the posttest score which is 69.12 compared to the pretest score of 64.73. The total increase is 4.39.
