- Abstract
This research aims to determine and analyze the role of Good University Governance (GUG) in improving higher education performance. This research is qualitative research in the nature of a literature study. Literature study in this research is data collection by searching for sources and reconstructing from various sources such as books, journals, and existing research. The research results reveal that the role of GUG is very vital in supporting the overall performance of a higher education institution, such as academic service quality performance, student performance, research performance and higher education human resource performance. The implementation of GUG is a system that functions to direct, evaluate and control the organization both internally and externally in an effort to improve higher education performance. The GUG principles are applied more optimally and consistently in higher education, showing different levels of performance that are better and superior compared to other tertiary institutions. The increasing practice of GUG plays a role in creating excellent and superior higher education performance.
