- Abstract
Inclusive Education (IE) is an education system developed in response to the segregated education system that separated students with special needs (SEN) from other students. This study aims to analyze the attitudes of primary school teachers in East Java towards IE for SEN in depth. This research will identify factors influencing teachers’ readiness and attitudes in supporting IE regarding knowledge, training, and teaching experience in inclusive environments. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. The study population consisted of elementary school teachers in East Java province who had experience teaching SEN. The research sample of 200 teachers was selected using a purposive sampling technique. This study shows that primary school teachers’ attitudes towards IE in East Java are generally positive. They support the principles of inclusion that focus on equal opportunities for all students, including children with special needs. However, some challenges in implementing IE still need to be addressed, especially regarding the cognitive and conative aspects of teachers’ attitudes.
