Income and Risk Analysis of Apis mellifera Honey Bee Farming Business in Sepanjang Village, Gondanglegi Malang, East Java

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyzed income, efficiency and business risk. The research method used is descriptive analysis with survey techniques based on previous research. The sample in this study was thirty (30) respondents who were taken by simple random sampling and the selection of research areas was carried out purposively. To determine the cost of the honey bee farming business in Sepanjang Village, Gondanglegi, Malang a production cost analysis was carried out, to determine the income of the honey bee farming business, it was analyzed using the income analysis formula and to determine the feasibility of the honey bee farming business, it was analyzed using the R/C Ratio formula and the risk analysis was used descriptive qualitative analysis through literature studies. The results of the study showed that (1). The average total cost of running a honey bee farming business (Apis mellifera) in Sepanjang Village Gondanglegi Malang was IDR 43.271.500. (2). The average income earned from honey beekeeping in one year is IDR 113,394,500 (3). The honey bee farming business (Apis mellifera) in Gondanglegi Subdistrict, Malang District, East Java Province has proven to be economically feasible to cultivate and develop because the R/C ratio value obtained at that time was 3.6. The high risk of honey bee farming at that time was related to environmental factors and market fluctuations. The conclusion is bee farming business in Sepanjang Village Gondanglegi, Malang gain profits in running their business, and have the main source of risk, namely environmental factors and market fluctuations.
