Abstract

Nowadays, in the two-carbon context, the topic of green industry has aroused the people’s attention gradually. As the construction of a beautiful China accelerates, the increasing number of businesses carry out greenwashing in order to maintain their corporate image, attract investment and increasing the corresponding economic benefits. These conducts have resulted in the negative consequences, such as the investment willingness of relevant stakeholders decreasing and the rating of ESG declining, which againsts the development of the green industry. In this paper, the vertical comparison method and case analysis are used for in-depth analysis of Goldwind’s greenwashing problem, expounding the motivation and influence of the enterprise’s greenwashing behavior. Meanwhile, on this basis, the shortcomings of this paper are explained and some prospects for future research directions have been made. It is hoped that this will enhance the public’s understanding and discrimination of greenwashing and promote the healthy development of green industry.
