Abstract

Under the background of globalization and technological innovation, the influence of digital economy on green innovation of enterprises has received attention. This review paper examines three theoretical frameworks: resource-based theory, innovation diffusion theory, and institutional theory. Through the provision of new resources, the acceleration of technology dissemination, and the implementation of policies, it has been discovered that the digital economy has greatly increased the green innovation efficiency of businesses. In the same time, this paper discusses the effects of direct and indirect influences, synergistic effects, and heterogeneity on green innovation. It also highlights how the east, central, and west regions of China differ in the development of the digital economy, as well as the effects of internal and external enterprises and executive heterogeneity on green innovation. In order to encourage green innovation and sustainable business development, this paper makes policy recommendations based on these findings. These recommendations include bolstering the development of digital infrastructure, encouraging the digital transformation of businesses, enforcing environmental regulations, and regionally coordinated development.
