- Abstract
Gender differences and gender inequality are among the most prominent social issues in today’s society, and gender inequality in secondary education requires urgent attention and improvement. This paper first elaborates on the existing gender inequality issues in secondary education from both the family and school levels. It then explores the root causes of these inequalities, identifying factors such as teacher-student interactions, school curriculum design, gender role expectations set by parents in early childhood education, social culture, and media influence as direct or indirect contributors to gender inequality. Finally, the article provides targeted recommendations and measures from national, school, family, and societal perspectives aimed at addressing and improving gender inequality in secondary education. The study of gender inequality in the field of secondary education in this paper contributes to raising awareness of the issue and helps deepen academic research on gender-related topics.
