Abstract

Despite efforts by the Chinese government to reduce the gap in compulsory education between urban and rural areas, urban and rural schools continue to struggle with a significant disparity in resources. This paper analyzes the concrete performance of the urban-rural education gap in infrastructure, teacher level, family background, education quality and other aspects, and then discusses the causes of the gap in various aspects, including uneven urban and rural economic development, unreasonable allocation of teachers, insufficient family education support and lack of policy implementation. To cope with the above challenges, this paper proposes recommendations such as increasing the balanced allocation of education resources, optimizing the allocation of rural teachers, improving the basic setting of schools, promoting the accurate enforcement of education policies, guiding the participation of social forces, and promoting information-based teaching. The research aims to provide corresponding references for policy formulation and implementation, in order to lay the foundation for achieving a more balanced and higher quality education system.
