- Abstract
The Vedas and Puranas contain central moral and ethical teachings, which will be the subject of this research and will be investigated. To do an analysis, this research will use key principles such as Dharma, which means duty; Satya, which means truth; Ahimsa, which means nonviolence; and nishkama Karma, which means selfless action. The manuscript aims to study the Relevance of these conceptions and how they connect to Western ethical theories and contemporary moral philosophy. This will be done within Western ethical theories and contemporary moral philosophy. Another topic addressed was the extent to which ancient ethical notions can be applied to modern problems, such as the ethics of companies, the duty of the environment, and many aspects of social justice. An attempt was made to determine whether these principles maintain Relevance. Both the Vedas and the Puranas, considered two significant components of ancient Indian literature, contain a multiplicity of ethical and moral teachings that have been significant in creating the Indian knowledge system for millennia. These teachings have been passed down from generation to generation without fail. These works are regarded as among the most significant pieces of writing produced in India. Several ethical and moral concepts can be found throughout the Vedas, Puranas, and the epic Ramayana. This research aims to result with the understanding of implications of these ideas into modern context, opening a way to future research with the aim of comparing Indian ideologies with other ancient civilizations.
