- Abstract
Child marriage in Ajallasse Village, Cenrana District, Bone Regency, is an issue that is still widespread even though there are various regulations that limit this practice. This research aims to identify and analyze the stigma that is developing in society regarding child marriage and the factors that influence it. Through a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and observation methods, it was found that the stigma of child marriage is influenced by cultural, religious, economic and social pressure factors. The results of this research show that although some people are aware of the negative impacts of child marriage, the positive stigma against this practice is still strong, especially in relation to avoiding family disgrace and social norms that assume girls should marry at a young age. This study recommends the need for more intensive education and outreach to reduce positive perceptions of child marriage in Ajallasse Village.
