- Abstract
This study aims to describe the texts on the Instagram account of micro-celebrity Indrakenz. Using the critical discourse analysis method by Roger Fowler, the research results show that Indrakenz utilizes vocabulary such as classification, limiting views, discourse struggle, and marginalization, as well as transitive and relational sentences, to reflect his ideology and interests in four discourses constructed on Instagram: success, luxury vacations, politics, and trading expertise. The findings indicate that social practices in the realm of social media are dominated by Indrakenz’s Instagram account without significant opposing discourse from other social media users or netizens. The implications of this study highlight the importance of media literacy and stricter regulations to reduce the occurrence of symbolic violence by micro-celebrities.
