- Abstract
Social media, abbreviated as medsos, is a communication platform for interacting with fellow netizens. Social media is chosen by netizens to communicate because it is effective, practical, and economical. However, many netizens make posts that are impolite, vulgar, bullying, sarcastic, and choose the wrong emojis that do not match the narrative being conveyed. As a result of posts like this, there is offense, disputes, chaos and even murder. The purpose of writing this paper is to provide strategies and solutions for language that can reduce offense, disputes, chaos and even murder. The importance of this problem is written so that netizens get learning to use polite, wise, and dignified language. The research method used to obtain data is the listening method with note-taking techniques and screen capture techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive methods. The results of the study showed that there are 7 uses of language on social media that can cause emotions of anger, namely: sarcasm, cynicism, threats, insults, harsh criticism, bullying, and fake news (hoaxes). Positive literacy is divided into two, namely first, news makers with polite language, changing negative posts into positive posts, posts with educational language, and using the right emoji. Second, for the recipient of the post should: think positively about the post, do not respond immediately, study the post carefully, do not blame yourself.
