- Abstract
Scholars have increasingly referred to a clearer and more structured framework to properly convey the depth of Taoism and its significance within the global spiritual landscape. The International Tao Academy posits that Taoism can be comprehensively understood through four fundamental components: the Taoist sage, Laozi; the Taoist holy site, Luyi County; the Taoist scripture, the Dao De Jing (Tao Te Ching); and the Taoist sacred date, the 15th day of the second lunar month. These four pillars constitute the foundation for both Taoist religious practice and intellectual contemplation.
