Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the digital addiction levels of high school students according to different variables such as gender, grade, general family attitudes, family income level. The universe of the research consists high school students in public schools in Sakarya, Çanakkale and Konya in 2022- 2023 academic year. The sample includes 472 high school students who were voluntary and randomly selected from the universe. While collecting the research data, “Personal Information Form” developed by the researcher to reach different demographic information of the participants and “Digital Addiction Scale for Adolescents” developed by Seema et al., (2022) and which was adapted to Turkish by Arslan (2023) were used. During the analysis of the data, SPSS 26.0 package program was used for the research. Frequency and percentage distributions were examined in order to calculate the demographic information of the high school students participating in the research. The digital addiction levels of high school students were determined by calculating the standard deviation and arithmetic mean values in line with the scales applied to the data.

According to the results of the research, it was seen that the digital addiction level of high school students was at the level of “occasionally” and it was determined that there were significant differences between the high school students’ level of digital addiction according to gender, family income level and general attitude of parents, and it was concluded that there was no significant difference according to grade level.
