- Abstract
China is aging rapidly, with one in every five citizens projected to be over the age of 65 by 2035 [1]. This shift represents one of the most profound demographic transformations in human history. The implications are vast, affecting health systems, economic productivity, and social structures. Despite global parallels, China’s immense population and urban-rural disparities heighten the stakes. This study aims to investigate the key factors influencing elderly health in China, assess current policy initiatives, and propose targeted recommendations for sustainable and inclusive aging strategies. Drawing on national health statistics, policy reviews, and international comparisons, the study identifies both risk and protective factors shaping elderly well-being. The results highlight gaps in healthcare access, long-term care development, and social support. The contribution of this paper lies in its comprehensive analysis and practical policy proposals, offering a blueprint for achieving healthy longevity in China. These strategies, if implemented effectively, hold the potential to reshape aging into a phase of opportunity rather than decline.
