Abstract

With the deepening development of the new retail model, the risks facing cold-chain logistics in fresh-food e-commerce are becoming increasingly complex. The traditional Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) relies heavily on expert experience in risk assessment, which suffers from issues such as strong subjectivity and complicated consistency checks. This paper proposes an evaluation method that integrates Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to optimize AHP, thereby constructing a risk assessment framework for fresh-food e-commerce cold-chain logistics that includes six first-level indicators and 21 second-level indicators. Leveraging PSO’s strengths—its powerful global search capability and rapid convergence speed—the method optimizes AHP’s judgment matrix, effectively reducing subjective bias and automatically satisfying consistency requirements. Using three mainstream fresh-food e-commerce platforms in Guangdong Province as empirical cases, we validate the effectiveness and superiority of this approach. The research results show that the AHP-PSO-based evaluation method can more accurately identify key risk factors, providing fresh-food e-commerce enterprises with scientific decision-support for risk management.
