- Abstract
Parental involvement is one of the things that can influence student learning outcomes, especially in teaching English at the secondary school level. English subjects in junior high school are subjects that are considered difficult, so English subjects require attention, support and motivation from students’ parents so that students’ learning outcomes meet expectations. This article examines the relationship between the role of parents and their influence on the learning outcomes of students at Pringapus Juniour High School, Semarang Regency in English subjects. There were 10 students and also 10 parents who were respondents to this research. By using questionnaires and interviews, information obtained was about parental involvement, which was then triangulated with in-depth interviews. To find out student learning achievements, the data can be obtained from the students’ learning reports. The research results show that the greater the role of parents in students’ learning activities, the better the students’ learning achievements in English subjects.
