- Abstract
Like poetry, song lyrics are a form of artistic expression that often convey deep meanings through language. This study aims to describe the language style used in the religious-themed song “Bila Tiba” by the Indonesian band Ungu, released in 2013 in the compilation album Ruang Hati. Using a stylistic approach, this research analyzes the linguistic features found in the song’s lyrics. Data were collected through a literature review supported by listening and note-taking techniques, and analyzed using stylistic analysis. The findings indicate that the language style in “Bila Tiba” is constructed through an integrated use of sound, word choice, and sentence structure. These stylistic elements interact cohesively through the use of metaphors and other figures of speech to build a religious discourse centered on the inevitability of death and the limitations of human life. The results highlight how language style functions not only as an aesthetic device, but also as a means of reinforcing the song’s spiritual message.
