- Abstract
Podcasts are highly favored by young audiences as they offer a variety of engaging themes tailored to users’ needs. One of the educational, humorous, and appealing podcasts for young people is the “Berbeda tapi Bersama” season 2 segment on the NOICE YouTube channel. This study aims to describe the humor techniques employed by Habib Ja’far in the “Berbeda tapi Bersama” podcast segment, season 2, on the NOICE YouTube channel. The analysis in this study utilizes Arthur Asa Berger’s linguistic category theory of humor. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods include observational techniques, specifically non-participatory observation and note-taking. The data analysis employs a contextual matching method, implemented through pragmatic determinant sorting. The results are presented using an informal presentation method. The analysis findings show five humor techniques. The allusion technique is reflected in remarks that highlight the interlocutor’s behavior, while the exaggeration technique relies on phrases or expressions that amplify certain concepts and situations. The facetiousness technique is evident in the use of uncommon or playful terms, the insult technique employs absurd metaphors aimed at the interlocutor, and the wordplay technique is recognized through the use of puns and multiple word meanings to convey ideas.
