Abstract

Embroidery is a type of fabric in the form of embroidery is a form of traditional crafts of the Indonesian people who come from various regions, including Kudus Regency which is often known as Embroidery Kudus. The art of Kudus Embroidery is one of the oldest handicrafts in Central Java because it is believed to have existed since the time of the Demak Sultanate. The existence of a famous border in the Kudus area is a challenge during the industrial era 4.0. People began to abandon and convert to computer embroidery. Because of the considerable market demand for computer embroidery, the art of embroidery is increasingly rare. The purpose of this research is to find answers related to the transformation and problems faced by the art of Kudus Embroidery crafts, especially in embroidery and the transfer of technological functions to computer embroidery and has relevance to historical studies of the importance of recording information in the past to the development of Kudus Embroidery crafts. This research uses historical methods, namely Heuristic, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The findings in the research of this article show that the transformation innovation of the art of embroidery is becoming support in the form of msme exhibitions on embroidery to business actors and public education about the importance of inheriting local culture.
