- Abstract
This research aims to analyze how journalism professionals in Ecuador manage data to create journalistic content and use computer tools to produce visualizations, enabling the delivery of journalistic products in a language accessible to all audiences. A data collection form was used to gather detailed information on each parameter and graphic element employed by the media, including ‘Primicias Ec’, ‘El Universo,’ and ‘El Comercio,’ as well as interviews with experts to validate the collected data. The research results reveal the need to incorporate new knowledge into newsrooms, complementing teams with professionals from technical, computing, and social areas to better understand the messages behind large-scale data. The study concludes that data journalism is practiced in Ecuador, supported by visualization tools and multimedia resources.
