- Abstract
The digital transformation of journalism prompted by its presence on platforms such as Instagram. This evidence new forms of narrative characterized by hypertextuality, multimediality, and interactivity. The contemporary digital environment reconfigures the relationship between media outlets, information systems, and audiences. This research aims to examine and implement strategies for distribution of digital content, such as narrative which include the threads of stories. By this, content can be converted into viral material with a significant audience penetration. Finally, an exploratory-descriptive methodology is applied to develops an analysis by using the Pearson coefficient. By correlating the variables of engagement, followers, formats, audiences, and content across 331 publications from five media outlets with digital presence in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico. The principal findings relate to suitable strategies for generating engagement, thematic prevalence and relevance, and digital mechanisms to strengthen audience participation.
