- Abstract
Menopause is a natural biological process marked by the decline of ovarian function and estrogen levels, leading to various symptoms that significantly impact quality of life. Some women experience sexual dysfunction and body dysmorphic disorder, which negatively affect relationships and raise concerns about marital stability. The loss of femininity, infertility, and decreased work performance may further contribute to distress and negative self- perception. Social stigma surrounding menopause, often viewed as a decline, exacerbates these psychological burdens. We report the case of a 52-year-old menopausal woman presenting with hypersexuality and body image dissatisfaction that disrupted her psychosocial well-being. Integrative management, including psychosexual counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and hormonal therapy, is essential to address both psychiatric and somatic symptoms. This case underscores the need for comprehensive psychiatric attention during menopause.
