Abstract

This study aims to design a culture-based science learning module that integrates Blambangan culture of Banyuwangi into elementary education. The research employed a development research design using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through literature review, cultural expert interviews, and validation by science education specialists. The findings show that Blambangan cultural elements, such as traditional farming practices, local wisdom in environmental management, and community rituals, can be effectively embedded into science topics in elementary schools. Expert validation indicates that the developed module is valid in terms of content, design, and language. Moreover, preliminary trials suggest that the module supports contextual learning, enhances students’ scientific literacy, and fosters appreciation of local culture. This research contributes to the innovation of science education by incorporating cultural heritage into learning resources, making science more meaningful and relevant to elementary learners.
